FAYETTEVILLE — A woman is suing Kroger alleging she was injured on a wet spot on the floor that she was unaware existed while she was shopping in the store.

Angela Williams was at Kroger doing her grocery shopping on Sept. 13, 2019, in Oak Hill when she slipped on the wet floor inside the store and fell, according to a complaint filed in Fayette Circuit Court.

Williams claims she received no notice, as there was not a wet floor sign and she wasn't aware that there was any danger.

The defendant failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition and failed to warn customers of the existence of a wet floor, according to the suit.

Williams claims Kroger's negligent acts and omissions caused her to endure mental anguish, annoyance, inconvenience and other damages.

Williams is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is represented by Kelly J. Guice, John C. Weber and Jan Dils of Jan Dils Attorneys at Law in Parkersburg.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Thomas Ewing.
