HUNTINGTON —A Kanawha County man has sued Metal Partners Rebar for injuries sustained from a work injury.
BRG Holdings, J&R Holdings, Trinity Rebar and Concrete Supplies, Glenn Jeffries and James R. Reed were also named as defendants in the suit.
Dalton Cook was employed by the defendants and was working on March 25, 2019, when he was required to use a rebar bending machine that he was not properly trained for and the machine did not have the proper protective shields and/or guards and he was injured, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
Cook claims his left hand was crushed when it went through the machine and his hand and several fingers were severely injured. He claims the defendants failed to keep the machine in a safe condition and failed to properly train him.
Cook is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by Robert H. Miller II of The Sutter Law Firm and Bernard E. Layne III of Mani Ellis & Layne.
