CHARLESTON — A man is suing General Motors for a vehicle he purchased that he claims was defective.

Robert Jarvis purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado from Crossroads Chevrolet in Mount Hope on April 30, 2019, that included a warranty, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Jarvis claims the vehicle ended up having several defects and he took the vehicle to the dealership for repair several times, but they failed to fix the vehicle.

"Defendant Manufacturer failed and refused to provide a comparable replacement vehicle and to reimburse plaintiff pursuant to plaintiff's rights under West Virginia law," the complaint states.

The defendant violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, according to the suit.

Jarvis is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by Charles M. Love IV of The Love Law Firm in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
