CHARLESTON — A Kanawha County woman and her husband are suing Charleston Area Medical Center for failing to properly diagnose and care for her when she was sick.

Judy Thomas was admitted to CAMC-Memorial Division on April 25, 2019, and she underwent a radial arterial catheterization to determine the cause of her complaints and, after several days, the defendants were unable to diagnose that she was suffering from a severe right radial arterial bleed, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Thomas claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries as a result of the defendants' negligence.

As a direct and proximate result of the defendants' wrongful conduct, the plaintiff incurred damages and injuries, according to the suit. Her husband also suffered a loss of consortium.

Thomas and her husband, John Thomas, are seeking compensatory damages. They are represented by Michael Del Giudice of Ciccarello DelGiudice and LaFon in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Tera Salango.
