FAYETTEVILLE — A man is suing Hidden Valley Center alleging that his mother-in-law was injured while she was a resident of the nursing home.

Genesis Healthcare was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Leonard Osborne is the executor of the estate of Nancy Wood Ignatovich. He claims that Ignatovich was at risk for falling when she was admitted to Hidden Valley and fell on Feb. 21, 2020, which caused her to suffer a hip fracture, according to a complaint filed in Fayette Circuit Court.

Osborne claims Ignatovich died as a result of her injuries. He claims the defendants negligently provided care and treatment to Ignatovich and acted in willful, wanton and reckless disregard for her safety and well-being.

The defendants' actions caused Ignatovich to suffer physical and mental pain and suffering; severe emotional distress; and incur medical expenses, according to the suit.

Osborne is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is represented by Charles M. Love IV of The Love Law Firm.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Blake.
