WINFIELD — A company is suing Teays Valley Assisted Living for failing to pay on a lease agreement.

Robert T. and Melissa D. Meeks LLC filed the lawsuit against Christie Mounts, also known as Christie Arnold, who is doing business as Teays Valley Assisted Living, alleging that Mounts agreed to pay $7,600 per month for five years beginning in 2011, according to a complaint filed in Putnam Circuit Court.

The company claims when the five years ended, the lease was renewed. However, in July 2020, the defendant failed to pay rent and has continued to occupy the premises while failing to pay rent.

The defendant had breached its contract with the plaintiff, according to the suit.

The company claims the plaintiff complied with all terms of the renewed lease agreement, but the defendant failed to do so.

The company is seeking damages. It is represented by Travis W. Hoffman of Tyree, Embree & Associates in Hurricane.
