WINFIELD — A woman is suing Sunbridge Putnam Health Care alleging that they negligently failed to care for her family member.

Genesis Health Care was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Pamela Adams filed the lawsuit on behalf of the estate of Anna Moore. She claims that Moore was a resident of the nursing home beginning in 2009, where she remained until her death in May 2020, according to a complaint filed in Putnam Circuit Court.

Adams claims the defendants failed to care for Moore and did not provide adequate supervision and safety devices to prevent her from falling and sustaining fractures, contusions and other injuries.

"The negligence and carelessness of the professionals and non-professionals at Putnam Center contributed substantially in causing serious injuries to Anna Moore, resulting in pain and suffering," the complaint states.

Adams is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is represented by Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew L. Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of Stewart Bell in Charleston.
