WINFIELD — A man is suing RYT Trucking after an unknown and unnamed employee was delivering a package to his residence and struck the residence, causing damages.

Cody Jeffries filed the lawsuit against RYT alleging that the John Doe driver was driving a FedEx-branded truck and was delivering packages when the driver delivered a package on March 13, 2020, and struck Jeffries' garage area, damaging the property, according to a complaint filed in Putnam Circuit Court.

Jeffries claims he captured the incident on his video cameras and that the video shows the driver striking the residence with the truck and then pulling out of the driveway without stopping to inspect the damage or inform Jeffries of the incident.

As a direct and proximate result of the defendants' negligence, recklessness, carelessness and wrongdoing, Jeffries suffered injuries and damages, according to the suit.

Jeffries is seeking compensatory damages in the amount of $27,500 for the property damages. He is represented by Benjamin Freeman of Freeman Law Offices in Hurricane.
