Putnam County woman sues McDonald's for injuries

WINFIELD — A Putnam County woman is suing McDonald's alleging that she was injured at the Winfield restaurant last year.

Suzanna Harbour filed the lawsuit against Baltic Capital, which is doing business as McDonald's, after an incident that occurred on Jan. 26, 2020, according to a complaint filed in Putnam Circuit Court.

Harbour claims she was walking across the defendant's parking lot on Jan. 26, 2020, when she tripped and fell to the ground due to a height deviation between two different surfaces on the parking lot. She claims the height deviation was not obvious and that she was keeping a proper lookout for cars approaching the drive-thru lane when she tripped and fell.

The defendant had a duty to ensure that its parking lot was reasonably safe and free from nuisances and negligently failed to do so, according to the suit.

Harbour claims she suffered injuries and damages as a result of the fall.

Harbour is seeking compensatory and general damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is represented by Connor Robertson of Weston Robertson in Hurricane.
