CHARLESTON — A woman is suing Alford Home Solutions alleging that her employment was wrongfully terminated.

Chris Alford was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Meredith Aliff was employed by the defendants in March 2019 until her employment was terminated on Feb. 12, 2020, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Aliff claims employees would constantly use racial slurs and she witnessed racial discrimination and race-based harassment by employees of the company.

On multiple occasions, Aliff complained about the racial slurs and harassment and after doing so, the plaintiff began to suffer from harassment herself and subjected to a hostile work environment, according to the suit.

Aliff claims she spoke with Alford about the complaints and 12 days later, she was fired from her employment. She claims after she was fired the defendants failed to timely pay her final wages.

Aliff is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is represented by Phillip Estep and Kurt Entsminger of Estep Entsminger Law Group in Charleston.
