PRINCETON — A Mercer County man is suing Princeton Health Care Center for his mother's injuries and eventual death due to a fall.

Garrett Wright filed the lawsuit on behalf of his mother, Madeline Wright, who died on Aug. 28, after she had stayed at the nursing home for several months, according to a complaint filed in Mercer Circuit Court.

Garrett Wright claims Madeline Wright was admitted to Princeton Health Care Center in February 2020, and while she was a resident there, she suffered from multiple falls, which caused her severe injuries.

Madeline Wright sustained pain and suffering from her falls and she eventually died, according to the suit.

Garrett Write claims he wasn't kept fully informed about his mother's health status, nor were other family members.

The defendant also failed to provide sufficient staff to provide adequate and appropriate care, according to the suit.

Garrett Wright is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is represented by Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew L. Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of Stewart Bell in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Derek Swope.
