CHARLESTON — A man is suing St. Albans Operating Company for his mother's death.
St. Albans Operating Company is doing business as Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center.
SavaSeniorCare Administrative and Consulting was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Peggy J. Hill was admitted to Riverside on April 12, 2019, and during her residency, the defendants failed to provide her a safe environment and failed to provide adequate supervision to prevent her from suffering from falls, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Lovell D. Hill Jr. claims his mother suffered from a fall, a left hip fracture, incisional wound dehiscence, left hip prosthetic joint infection and sepsis.
The defendants' negligence ultimately caused Peggy Hill's death, according to the suit.
Lovell Hill is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is represented by Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew L. Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of Stewart Bell in Charleston.
The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
