PETERSBURG — The Streby Hunting Club is suing the estate of a man who passed away last year, alleging that he had agreed to transfer property to the club upon his death.

Eugene Cook was one of the original members of the Streby Hunting Club and throughout his life, he had agreed that when he passed, certain parcels of land would go to the hunting club, according to a complaint filed in Grant Circuit Court.

Karen Cook, Eugene Cook's wife and the administratrix of his estate, was to transfer the property to the hunting club, but failed to do so.

The hunting club claims it requested Karen Cook to transfer the property but she failed and refused to do so and refused to abide by the terms of the constitution and by-laws in regard to the ownership shares owned by Eugene Cook in the hunting club.

The club is seeking for Karen Cook to convey the more than 80 acres to the hunting club. It is represented by Thomas Kupec of Kupec and Associates in Clarksburg.

Grant Circuit Court case number: 21-C-10
