Man sues Professional Transportation Inc. for car accident

State Court
Caraccident 800x450

WILLIAMSON — A Dingess man is suing Professional Transporation Inc. alleging it is at fault for a car accident.

Norfolk Southern Railway Company and Katrina Shelton were also named as defendants in the suit.

Wesley B. Walker was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Shelton, who was a PTI employee, on Aug. 23, 2019, according to a complaint filed in Mingo Circuit Court.

Walker claims Shelton failed to yield and caused the vehicle to be struck by another vehicle, causing him injuries. He claims PTI was responsible for the accident since it was caused by one of its employees.

The defendant was operating the vehicle at an excessive rate of speed and was careless and reckless, which caused Walker to sustain injuries, according to the suit.

Walker claims he has had a disability because of the accident and lost sums of money for wages or earnings, as well as permanent disfigurement.

Walker is seeking damages in the amount of $15 million. He is represented by Benjamin P. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin in East Alton, Ill.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Miki Thompson.
