WINFIELD — A man is suing West Virginia Paving and Highway Safety for a vehicle accident that caused him injuries.

Larry Zimmerman was operating a motorcycle on Interstate 64 in Hurricane on May 10, 2019, when road conditions were wet and when he attempted to change lanes when he struck an uneven lane transition and lost control of the motorcycle, according to a complaint filed in Putnam Circuit Court.

Zimmerman claims West Virginia Paving was in the process of construction on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 and negligently failed to properly post signage alerting motorists to construction activity or uneven lanes.

Highway Safety was the contractor involving signage and traffic control devices at the time of the accident, according to the suit.

Zimmerman claims the defendants' negligence caused his injuries and damages.

Zimmerman is seeking compensatory damages. He is represented by Bert Ketchum of Green Ketchum Bailey & Tweel.
