HUNTINGTON — A man is suing Cabell Huntington Hospital alleging he was injured while at the hospital.

Billy Murphy was admitted to Cabell Huntington Hospital on May 27, 2020, for a suspected stroke and altered mental state and was a known fall risk, however, despite this, the staff failed to take sufficient measures to prevent him from falling and on May 30, 2020, he fell, according to a complaint filed in Cabell Circuit Court.

The defendant was negligent and responsible for Murphy's injuries.

Murphy is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is represented by Timothy D. Houston and Kathy A. Brown of Brown Houston in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
