PRINCETON — A woman is suing Bill Cole Automall for an allegedly fraudulent scheme that caused her damages.

Cole Automotive Group, Cole Honda Nissan and United Bank were also named as defendants in the suit.

Grace Moodie's son was purchasing a used vehicle and the dealer misrepresented to the plaintiff that she would be only a cosigner when the dealer requested her signature as a condition of granting credit to her son for the purchase, according to a complaint filed in Merce Circuit Court.

Moodie never received any goods or services and was never provided copies of the contract, which she later discovered identified her as the buyer. She ended up suffering significant damage to her credit and significant worry and stress after her son lost his job due to COVID-19 and he needed to relinquish the vehicle.

Moodie is seeking compensatory damages. She is represented by Daniel F. Hedges of Mountain State Justice in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Mark Wills.
