CHARLESTON — A woman is suing the city of South Charleston for injuries she sustained while she was at the South Charleston Recreation Center.

Jonda C. Plantz was at the South Charleston Recreation Center on June 8, 2019, when she walked out of a party room and fell, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Plantz claims she came in contact with an unseen wet surface that was located in the hallway and immediately fell on the wet surface, sustaining injuries to her leg, back and head.

The defendant failed to maintain the hallway surface to standard by failing to remove the wetness and failed to keep the hallway in a reasonably safe condition.

Plantz is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is represented by Jon D. Hoover of Hoover Law in Barboursville.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Tera Salango.
