HUNTINGTON — Garrison Design & Company and its owner are suing Erie Insurance Property & Casualty Company alleging breach of contract.

Huntington Stormwater Utility Board was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Gary Harrison's business sustained damages in July 2019 when the city's sewer system failed and backed up into his business, according to a complaint filed in Cabell Circuit Court.

Harrison claims Erie breached its contract with him by failing to fairly compensate him for the property damage. He claims the defendants violated the Unfair Claim Settlement Practices Act.

Harrison is seeking compensatory damages. He is represented by Kenneth P. Hicks of Kenneth P. HIcks LC in Huntington.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Gregory Howard.
