PRINCETON — A woman is suing CK Automotive Company for a coercion scheme.
CK is doing business as Cole Automotive Group. Hyundai Capital America, which is doing business as Kia Motor Finance, was also named as a defendant in the suit.
Louvenia Dodson went to the defendants for an oil change and was pressured into looking at vehicles, and when she finally relented the defendants steered her toward a vehicle that she did not want and they kept her on the premises for hours, according to a complaint filed in Mercer Circuit Court.
Dodson claims she had her young grandson with her and she was desperate to leave the dealership so she signed any document put in front of her so that she could leave. She later learned the defendants had included expensive GAP and Microdots add-ons to a new vehicle without her consent. The vehicle was then repossessed several months later.
Dodson is seeking compensatory damages. She is represented by Benjamin Sheridan, Jed Nolan and Megan Patrick of Klein & Sheridan.
The case is assigned to Circuit Judge William Sadler.
