Slip02

PRINCETON — A woman is suing Mercer County Commission claiming she was injured at the county courthouse.

Shirley Cline was at the Mercer County Courthouse on March 5, 2020, and was attempting to enter the handicap entrance when she fell due to loose asphalt, uneven pavement and other unsafe conditions, according to a complaint filed in Mercer Circuit Court.

Cline claims she sustained injuries and there was no signage warning her of the unsafe conditions. She claims she is a disabled person as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and the county commission had a duty to provide and maintain safe conditions at the courthouse.

Cline is seeking compensatory damages. She is represented by Henry Harvey of Harvey & Janutolo Law Offices in Bluefield.
