Attorney Edward “Skipp” Kropp Receives Volunteer of the Year Honor from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce

Steptoe & Johnson PLLC issued the following announcement on Nov. 15.

Of Counsel Edward L. “Skipp” Kropp has been named a 2021 Samuel C. Schlosser Volunteer of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

Kropp has been an active member of the Chamber since 2012. He serves on its energy and environmental committees and the planning committee for its annual Energy Management Conference. He also assists with Indiana Industry Day activities, liaising with officials from state and federal environmental agencies to coordinate the event.

Kropp’s legal career spans more than four decades. He joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2013 and focuses his practice on environmental and regulatory matters. He helps clients navigate complex regulatory changes and understand the impact on their operations. Kropp was previously an environmental attorney for air and water matters for the American Electric Power Company and environmental affairs director for Appalachian Power Company. He was also a Deputy Director of the West Virginia Division of Environmental Protection. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Purdue University and his law degree from Capital University Law School.

Kropp’s passion for service extends beyond business and industry. He is an avid singer and has served in various leadership positions for the 15,000-member Barbershop Harmony Society, including president and multiple terms on the board of directors. He currently leads the organization’s CEO evaluation committee and co-leads the governance and bylaws committee.
