CHARLESTON — A woman is suing Go-Mart alleging she was injured in one of its St. Albans stores.
Angela Green walked into a Go-Mart convenience store on July 2, 2020, and was walking toward the register when she tripped over a pallet that was sticking out into the walkway and caused her to fall to the ground, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
The complaint does not clarify which St. Albans store Green was visiting.
Green claims the defendant owed the plaintiff a duty of reasonable care and breached that duty of care by failing to provide a safe and secure environment for those walking in the store.
As a result of the defendant's alleged negligence, the plaintiff sustained physical damages and incurred medical expenses and lost wages, according to the suit.
Green is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is represented by Truman C. Griffith of Warner Law Offices in Charleston.
The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Louis "Duke" Bloom.
