CHARLESTON – A Parkersburg man has sued country music star Jason Aldean following an incident at a 2020 concert in Charleston.

Matthew Lee Dulaney filed his complaint February 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Jason Aldine Williams, also known as Jason Aldean.

According to the handwritten pro se complaint, Dulaney attended the Jason Aldean concert February 20, 2020, at the Charleston Coliseum.

“Agents in the employ of Jason Aldine Williams interrupted Matthew Dulaney’s viewing of the concert, cussed at him and placed a hand on his shoulder,” the complaint states. “At least part of this was recorded on video.”

The complaint includes no other details about the incident, and it doesn’t list any other injuries Dulaney sustained.

Dulaney seeks damages of $30,000. He declined further comment, and a representative for Aldean has not returned calls seeking comment.

Aldean, 44, has released 10 albums since 2005 and has received four Grammy Award nominations. Some of the Macon, Georgia, native’s biggest hits are “You Make It Easy,” “Rearview Town,” “Got What I Got,” "Trouble With A Heartbreak" and “If I Didn’t Love You,” a duet with Carrie Underwood.

Dulaney’s case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
