PRINCETON — A woman is suing Psychological Assessment & Intervention Services Inc. alleging she was injured by one of its clients.

Juanita Dailey Booker and Aliyah Harris were also named as defendants in the suit.

Daryl Keatley claims Kaitlyn Wilson suffered from behavior, mental, cognitive and/or physical disabilities and PAIS was retained to provide services for Wilson, including supervision for 24-hours per day, seven days per week, according to a complaint filed in Mercer Circuit Court.

Keatley claims PAIS was aware of Wilson's medical conditions and explosive behavior disorders and that she suffered from an intermittent explosive disorder characterized as repeated, sudden episodes of impulsive, aggressive and violent behavior.

On Sept. 27, 2019, Wilson suffered from the disorder, however, prior to that date, the defendants were aware that she had a history of committing erratic, dangerous and violent behavior.

Previously, on Nov. 28, 2015, Wilson destroyed the personal property of her in-home care worker and threatened to kill the worker and attempted to physically assault her. When a state trooper responded to the incident, she had an altercation with the officer and was arrested as a result.

Wilson had also previously broken the foot of a PAIS employee during one of her episodes and had attacked another direct care staff employee when she held an employee's face to a stove burner and threatened to burn the employee's face.

PAIS was well aware of her violent and aggressive behaviors and failed to implement new care plans or change Wilson's care plans.

On Sept. 27, 2019, Harris and Booker were providing supervision and care to Wilson and Keatley, who was 72 at the time, was living in the same apartment complex as Wilson, when Keatley exited her apartment door and found Harris and Booker in the stairwell with Wilson, smoking cigarettes.

Keatley asked the defendants to put their cigarette butts into a container, but the defendants raised their voices at Keatley, which provoked Wilson and Wilson then attacked Keatley.

Keatley claims the defendants did nothing to intervene or attempt to stop or deescalate the altercation and Keatley was thrown to the bottom of a flight of concrete stairs.

Keatley is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is represented by Eric J. Buckner and Jennifer Dempsey Meeteer of Katz Kantor Stonestreet & Buckner of Princeton.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Derek Swope.
