This month we are proud to feature Lindsey Thompson

Success stairs

In the Fall of 2021, it came to Lindsey’s attention that her hometown police department, the Town of Pineville Police Department, did not have bulletproof vests for its officers. This situation was deemed untenable by Mrs. Thompson, as she knew the dangerous situations these officers find themselves in almost every day. Lindsey contacted her friend and military veteran, Blake Cook, to connect her with someone who could help. Lindsey and Blake worked with Shield and Spear Armament, Inc. https://shieldspeararms.com/  and in late January 2022 they were able to procure and deliver new bulletproof vests to the officers of the Town of Pineville Police Department. Lindsey, Blake, and Shied and Spear Armament  each covered a portion of the cost of the vests, so the Pineville Police Department received them for free.

Lindsey was born and raised in Wyoming County and returned home after law school. She started her own law firm, Kirby & Ashley, L.C., https://kirbyandashley.com/ where she has practiced for over a decade. Lindsey serves on the Board of Christian Education at Cook Memorial Baptist Church, and she volunteers with the Pineville Little League. She supports the youth sports teams in Wyoming County, and is a member of the PTO at Pineville Elementary School. Lindsey is truly active in her home county.

Lindsey resides in Saulsville with her husband, Joshua T. Thompson, Partner at Thompson & Spolarich, PLLC and their two children: Case and Evangeline. Thank you, Lindsey, for being more than a lawyer by serving your community and solving problems in Wyoming County. Lindsey was nominated by Ben Hatfield, Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney and Wyoming County native.

What is our MoreThanALawyer campaign all about? It highlights all the ways West Virginia’s attorneys impact lives within and outside of their profession. West Virginia's lawyers are service members, volunteers, mentors, coaches, musicians and committed advocates. In all of these roles, they make a difference in their community. Each month we share a MoreThanALawyer story on West Virginia State Bar’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
