Jackson Kelly's History Includes Longtime Staffers Like Stephanie Vinson

Ste

What do you say about someone who has been with a company almost 50 years? A quarter of its 200-year-old history? You just say, “We are thankful.” This is certainly the case for our Stephanie Vinson who has been with Jackson Kelly forty-five years.

Vinson, who is the Accounting and Benefits Manager, says, “I have always been proud to say I work for Jackson Kelly and to share with others the wonderful experience that I have gained from so many years with the same Firm. The leadership that I have worked under—Andy Blair, John McClaugherty, Charlie Gage, Al Emch, Mike Foster, Ellen Cappellanti and Jim Lowen — has made this the perfect job for me.”

Vinson has seen so many changes at the Firm, that it includes the name changes to the Firm. She started when Jackson Kelly was known as “Jackson Kelly Holt & O’Farrell”. The Firm has grown quite a bit since then to almost 160 attorneys. Much of that can be contributed to hard working staff, like Stephanie, who are here to support our lawyers. “To put it all in perspective, I was here when their bookkeeping department was a department of 2 people – the timekeeper and the bookkeeper, the introduction of the first fax machine to the Firm, the set-up of the database for the first computer system, and the set-up of each new office that became a part of the Jackson Kelly family during my 45 years.,” says Vinson. She goes on to say, “I have been able to be mentored by some of the most powerful people in the legal industry and learn every single day from them how to do it right.”

Everyone in the Firm is appreciative of her hard work and legacy. You don’t last that long with one company without being noticed for your attention to detail, work ethic and more. Says Firm Chief Operating and Financial Officer Jim Lowen, “Stephanie is and has been a big asset to the Firm and to me. I have worked with Stephanie for nearly thirty-five years and can say that I have not encountered anyone more reliable, loyal or dedicated to the Firm than Stephanie…she is the quintessential employee. She has always protected the Firm’s assets like it was her own as well as managing the Finance department smoothly like a well-oiled machine.  She will be retiring next year and will leave behind big shoes to fill. However, from a personal standpoint, I am happy for her as she has definitely earned it.”

In short, you cannot summarize Jackson Kelly’s modern history without it including Stephanie. 45 years of hard work and loyalty have been the hallmark of the Firm, and she has been a model of that success.

“I have daily challenges that keep it interesting, people who care about the staff and invest in us, people who were and are willing to listen when things are tough and above all they have always been fair. What more could you ask for than to be part of a Firm that has allowed you to be a part of their history?”

We should add, “What more can you ask than for people like Stephanie to be part of that history?!”
