CHARLESTON – A Georgia flight attendant says she was injured at a Charleston hotel during a layover.

Chelscia Frazier filed her complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Four Points By Sheraton, which is located on Kanawha Boulevard.

According to the complaint, Frazier was a guest at the hotel on November 22, 2020. In her room, she says she was stepping into the bathtub to shower when she slipped and fell. She landed on her back, cut her toe and twisted her right ankle, according to the complaint. She says she suffered right ankle strain, right great toe abrasion, lumbar strain, closed bimalleolar fracture of the right ankle and right ankle sprain.

Frazier says the hotel was negligent by not providing handrails, bathmats, slip resistant materials or other safety precautions. She says she now has difficulty working and doing daily activities because of the pain she still suffers from the incident.

She says she has suffered damages including medical expenses, lost wages, pain, inconvenience, embarrassment, mental anguish, loss of well-being, loss of ordinary pleasures of life and equanimity. She also says her overall health, strength and vitality have been greatly impaired.

Frazier seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief. She is being represented by Thomas D. Hall of Hall & Copteas in Pittsburgh. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joanna Tabit.
