Angela Freel and Vivian Basdekis Elected

Jackson Kelly PLLC is pleased to announce that the Firm has elected Members Vivian H. Basdekis and Angela L Freel to three-year terms on the Executive Committee, effective January 1, 2023.  They fill the expired Executive Committee three-year terms of Firm Members Marc Fine and Charles Loeb.

“We are thrilled to welcome Vivian and Angela as the newest members of our Executive Committee, and we are grateful for Marc and Charlie’s service and leadership over the past three years,” said Firm Managing Member Ellen S. Cappellanti.

Since joining the Firm in 2008, Vivian Basdekis has focused her practice on commercial litigation, including within the banking, construction, media, and energy industries. Basdekis represents business clients on a wide variety of issues, including commercial contract disputes and business torts; construction law, mechanics’ liens and bond law; financial services litigation; first amendment, media and broadcast law; alcohol licensing matters; and surrogacy and adoption law. Basdekis is also the co-author of Keeping It Legal, a guide for broadcasters published by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association. She practices out of the Firm's office in Charleston, West Virginia.

Angela Freel is a Member in the Insurance industry group, focusing primarily on appellate; arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution; class action and complex litigation; commercial litigation; domestic relations litigation; litigation; and product liability litigation. Freel has been a Member of the Firm since its merger with Rudolph, Fine, Porter & Johnson LLP in 2014. Freel enjoys getting to know the people she represents and prides herself on developing a personal connection with her clients while providing a complete understanding of each case along with the effective, timely resolution of disputes. Freel represents numerous clients on a wide variety of issues, including personal injury defense, commercial vehicle accidents, coverage disputes, construction disputes, commercial contract disputes and business torts, divorce, paternity, guardianship, and custody modifications. She practices out of the Firm's office in Evansville, Indiana.
