Supreme Court Chief Justice Beth Walker will visit Pocahontas County High School to talk to students about the West Virginia court system on Tuesday, March 14.

She will speak to the students in the school’s auditorium beginning at 10 a.m. Media are invited to attend.

The school is located at 271 Warrior Way in Dunmore. Supreme Court Justices and other judicial officers visit schools as part of the court system’s Have Gavel Will Travel program. The program encourages judicial officers to speak to students and volunteer in read aloud programs in elementary schools. A list on the West Virginia Judiciary website (http://www.courtswv.gov/publicresources/student-resources/SpeakersListSept2021.html) indicates which judicial officers participate in the Have Gavel Will Travel program. Teachers may contact them directly or contact Public Information Officer Jennifer Bundy (304-340-2305, jennifer.bundy@courtswv.gov) or Deputy Public Information Officer April Harless (304- 340-2306, april.harless@courtswv.gov) to set up a school visit.
