CHARLESTON — Xceptional Wildlife Removal was not, in fact, exceptional in removing an infestation of raccoons from two properties in Kanawha County, according to the homeowner's lawsuit.

Grant Rogers was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Donna Skaff entered into a written contract with Xceptional Wildlife Removal on Dec. 2, 2021, for the treatment of an infestation of raccoons and other pests from her residential property in Charleston for $4,689.90 and her South Charleston residence for $3,187.42, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Skaff claims the defendants had a duty to perform the services in a workmanlike manner and that their work, instead, was inadequate and sloppily performed, which necessitated the employment of a remediating company to complete the work supposedly undertaken by Xceptional.

"That the Defendant Xceptional Wildlife Removal is no longer in good standing with the state of West Virginia, and that it hs, therefore, lost its corporate standing, thus necessitating the including of the Defendant Grant Rogers, individually, who executed said contract on behalf of Defendant Xceptional and, therefore, would be personally responsible for any judgment which may be obtained by the Plaintiff against either or both Defendants," the complaint states.

Skaff is seeking judgment in the amount of $7,868.32 with pre-judgment interest. She is represented by Walton S. Shepherd III of Sissonville.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Kenneth Ballard.
