Woman says Dollar General didn't pay final wages soon enough

State Court
Dollargeneral

CHARLESTON – A woman says Dollar General didn’t pay all of her wages in a timely manner.

Kaitlin Bowling filed her complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Dolgencorp LLC doing business as Dollar General.

According to the complaint, Bowling was a store manager for the defendant until she left the company in November 2022.

When she left, she says the company breached its duty by failing to pay all of the wages owed to her as required by the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act. She says she should have received all wages owed on November 18, 2022. But she says she didn’t get her final paycheck until December 2, 2022.

Bowling also says she never received a quarterly bonus for Quarter 3 of 2022 and didn’t pay her for her 28 unused hours of vacation time.

She accuses Dollar General of violating the WPCA. She seeks judgment against the defendant, liquidated damages, pre- and post-judgment interests, attorney fees, court costs and other relief.

Bowling is being represented by Todd S. Bailess, Jodi R. Durham and Cory B. Lowe of Bailess Law Firm in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Kenneth Ballard.
