CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man blames an Ohio company for injuries that led to a severed pinky finger.

Preston Hall Jr. filed his complaint September 19 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Loud and Clear Inc., which is an audio visual equipment supplier based in Woodlawn, Ohio.

According to the complaint, Hall was injured June 29 when some L-Acoustic K2 system speakers shifted and severed his pinky. He says a technician working for the defendant negligently and aggressively pulled a locking mechanism, causing the speakers to shift.

It also says the technician asked the plaintiff, “Did I get your finger?”

Hall sought treatment at Charleston Area Medical Center for his severed finger, ongoing pain and persistent headaches.

He accuses the defendant company of negligence and negligent infliction of emotional distress. He seeks compensatory damages, attorney fees, court costs and other relief.

Hall is being represented by Michael Cary of Cary Law Office in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tera Salango.
