Steptoe & Johnson Welcomes 12 New Associates to the Firm

Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is happy to announce its newest class of associate attorneys to the firm. The new associates include Devon Alt, Trevor Kiess, Maggie Lohmann, Brayden Meadows, Carri Napier, Madison Pemberton, Meghann Principe, Kyle Rogers, Mattie Shuler, Evan Stire, Rob Thompson, and Shelby Turley. They will practice in offices located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia.

Alt focuses his practice on energy litigation in the Bridgeport, West Virginia office. He was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson. He earned his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law.

Kiess practices in the Morgantown, West Virginia office with a focus on economic development. He was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson, an intern for a Big Four accounting firm, and worked for the WVU Foundation. He earned his bachelor’s, MBA, and law degrees from West Virginia University.

Lohmann practices employment litigation in the Bridgeport, West Virginia office. She was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson and a student attorney with the West Virginia Innocence Project. She earned her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, where she was the senior editor of the West Virginia Law Review, and her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan University.

Meadows* practices in the Dallas, Texas office with a focus on general litigation. He was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and his law degree from University of Richmond School of Law.

Napier practices business litigation in the Charleston, West Virginia office. She was previously a judicial intern for West Virginia Sixth Judicial Circuit Judge Alfred E. Ferguson and a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University and her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.

Pemberton practices in the Columbus, Ohio office with a focus on corporate and mergers and acquisitions. She also assists clients with mineral title and property matters. She was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson in addition to being a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity 1L Scholar with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Principe practices corporate and mergers and acquisitions law in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. She was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson. She earned her law degree from the Duquesne University Kline School of Law, where she was the executive editor of Joule: Duquesne Energy & Environmental Law Journal. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Rogers focuses his practice on general litigation matters in the Meadville, Pennsylvania office. He is an active member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was previously a legal intern for the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office in addition to being a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Mercyhurst University and his law degree from the Duquesne University Kline School of Law.

Shuler practices in the Huntington, West Virginia office with a focus on professional liability matters. She was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson and an extern law clerk for the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University and her law degree from West Virginia University College of Law.

Stire practices energy transactional law in the Charleston, West Virginia office. Previously he was a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson and was a law clerk for a U.S. Attorney’s Office. He earned his bachelor’s, MBA, and law degrees from West Virginia University.

Thompson practices in the Morgantown, West Virginia office with a focus on general litigation matters. He is an officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard and was previously an intern for the West Virginia University Office of General Counsel and a summer clerk for a law firm in Weirton, West Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law.

Turley focuses her practice on commercial and estate planning matters in the Martinsburg, West Virginia office. She previously worked as a legal assistant in multiple law firms and was a Steptoe & Johnson summer associate. She earned her bachelor’s and law degrees from West Virginia University.
