Supreme Court Justices John Hutchison and Haley Bunn speak to students at Baileysville Elementary and Middle School at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12.

The school is located at 11618 R.D. Bailey Highway in Brenton, Wyoming County. Media who wish to attend the event should contact the school for permission by calling 304-732-6399.

“The Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia is deeply committed to civics education,” said Justice Hutchison. “We very much enjoy talking to students when they visit the Capitol, and we love visiting schools. We want everyone to understand how the state judicial system works for them.” “We try to meet students where they are, literally and figuratively,” said Justice Bunn, a native of Wyoming County.

“We hope our school visits help build a foundational knowledge about the court system, but we also hope to inspire some students to think about careers in the judicial system.”
