CHARLESTON – A couple claims Joe Holland Chevrolet sold them a defective vehicle.
Donna J. Christie and John B. Christie III filed their complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Joe Holland Chevrolet.
According to the complaint, the Christies purchased a 2019 Ford Escape from the dealership in November 2022 for $23,617. However, shortly after the purchase, they say they began receiving error messages indicating a mechanical defect in the engine.
The complaint says the vehicle has a manufacturing defect that allows coolant to enter the cylinders and necessitates replacement of the engine block. Despite being given several opportunities to fix this issue, Joe Holland Chevrolet allegedly failed to do so, according to the complaint.
The Christies revoked their acceptance of the vehicle by letter dated November 3, 2023. The dealership received this revocation on November 4, 2023, and is currently in possession of the vehicle. However, according to the plaintiffs, Joe Holland Chevrolet has not responded to their revocation of acceptance.
The couple is being represented by Bren J. Pomponio of Mountain State Justice. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
