CHARLESTON – A Charleston woman says she was sexually assaulted by her supervisor in front of customers while working at Golden Corral when she was 17 years old.

Sarah Aman filed her complaint February 16 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Golden Corral Corp., Golden Corral Franchising Systems Inc., CSG Enterprises Corp. and Christopher Gomes.

According to the complaint, Aman began working at the Golden Corral locate on Goff Mountain Road in Cross Lanes in May 2022 under the direct supervision of Gomes until August 24, 2022. Aman was 17 years old during those months.

During that timeframe, Aman says Gomes made various inappropriate and suggestive comments to her. On August 24, 2022, she says Gomes assaulted and battered her when he reached into her work smock under the guise of “adjusting her straws” and inappropriately touched her in a sexual manner without her permission in front of customers.

“Plaintiff immediately suffered from shock and anxiety arising from this conduct, quit her employ at the restaurant and contacted law enforcement,” the complaint states.

Aman says she has suffered personal injuries, emotional injuries, pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and has incurred medical costs and expenses. She seeks compensatory damages, general damages, special damages, exemplary damages, punitive damage, pre- and post-judgment interests, statutory penalties, attorney fees, court costs, expenses and other relief.

She is being represented by Steven K. Nord and Ryan Q. Ashworth of Ashworth Nord in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tera Salango.
