CLARKSBURG – A Texas-based company says the airplane it owns was damaged during maintenance.
Uncommon Sense 1 LLC filed its lawsuit in federal court against MHI RJ Aviation Inc. claiming it caused damage to an aircraft during maintenance procedures.
According to the complaint, Uncommon Sense 1 claims it purchased a 1995 Canadair (Bombardier) CL-600-2B19 aircraft for $7 million in April 2022 and invested an additional $200,000 for Wi-Fi acquisition and installation. The company then leased the aircraft to Slate Leasing II LLC, which subsequently subleased it to Tri-State Charter LLC.
Within six months of purchase, Tri-State entered into an agreement with MHI RJ Aviation to perform certain repair services on the winglet of the aircraft at their Bridgeport facility, according to the complaint. Uncommon Sense 1 LLC claims this was done without their consultation or notification.
The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages.
