Terrance D. Petty, Jr. has filed a lawsuit against Howard S. Hamrick and Walnut Ridge Trucking, Inc., in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, Beckley Division (Case 5:24-cv-00174), on April 4, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants are responsible for a severe road accident that resulted in life-threatening injuries to him.
On April 27, 2022, Hamrick, an employee of Walnut Ridge Trucking, allegedly drove a tractor-trailer into the rear of Petty's car on Interstate 64 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The plaintiff asserts that Hamrick was driving at an excessive speed and failed to slow down or change lanes to avoid the collision.
The impact of the crash caused Petty's vehicle to hit a guardrail resulting in catastrophic damage and severe injuries to him. He is seeking judgment against both defendants jointly and severally for an amount exceeding $75,000 exclusive of interest and costs.
