Woman sues United States Postal Service for negligence in car accident

Plaintiff Hollie Holstine has filed a lawsuit against the United States of America and the United States Postal Service (USPS) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, Charleston Division. The case, identified as Civil Action No. 2:24-cv-00235, was filed on May 7, 2024. 

According to the complaint, Holstine was a passenger in a vehicle traveling west on Washington Street in Charleston when a USPS vehicle attempted an improper left turn from the right lane, resulting in a collision. The plaintiff's counsel, Benjamin D. Adams of Morgan & Morgan, asserts that the USPS employee's negligence caused severe and permanent injuries to Holstine. The administrative claim was initially filed on May 31, 2023, and acknowledged by USPS on July 5, 2023.

Holstine is seeking compensatory damages for physical and emotional injuries sustained from the crash. She claims ongoing medical expenses and future treatment costs due to her injuries. Additionally, she seeks damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life, and other related economic and non-economic losses.
