Steptoe & Johnson PLLC Continues Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion with Mansfield Certification Process

Steptoe & Johnson is proud to announce it is joining more than 365 firms worldwide in reaffirming its commitment to Mansfield Certification for 2024-2025. The Mansfield Rule is a year-long, structured certification process by Diversity Lab that ensures all talent has a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership.

Data shows that firms that remain committed and accountable to the Mansfield Certification process year-over-year are making substantial progress in creating inclusive talent practices and diversifying their leadership ranks.

Steptoe & Johnson’s Mansfield participation has ensured that the firm continues to enhance its diversity-focused recruiting efforts, establish procedures for measuring the firm’s success in attracting, retaining, and advancing lawyers from diverse backgrounds, and provide women and diverse lawyers have the opportunity to play an integral part in firm management and leadership.

Firms seeking Mansfield Certification must meet certain parameters, including a commitment to expanding talent pools of historically underrepresented lawyers for leadership opportunities. They must also increase transparency around opportunities and promotions and encourage peer group and third-party accountability throughout the certification process.

Steptoe & Johnson achieved Mansfield Certification for two years in a row (2022 and 2023).
