Steptoe & Johnson PLLC attorney Rodney L. Bean has been inducted as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Bean is the seventh Steptoe & Johnson attorney to be inducted as a fellow.

Bean has been practicing law with Steptoe & Johnson for more than 25 years and serves as the Chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. He assists employers develop labor and human resources strategies, and counsels and trains employers on federal and state employment law. He also has significant litigation and arbitration experience, having represented employers in countless cases before state and federal trial courts and administrative agencies. He has tried more than 50 labor arbitrations and argued more than 30 cases before state and federal appellate courts.

Bean has been ranked by Best Lawyers® as “Lawyer of the Year” for Morgantown WV Labor Law – Management three times. He has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® and Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

He earned his law and bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University.

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a non-profit association that seeks to honor leading lawyers in the field of labor and employment law nationwide. Election as a fellow is the highest peer recognition of sustained outstanding performance in the profession. Other Steptoe & Johnson fellows include Bryan R. Cokeley, John R. Merinar Jr., C.
