Steptoe & Johnson is pleased to announce that Perry Cavender has been selected as a 2025 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow.
During the year long program, Cavender will participate in training sessions and have opportunities to interact with key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations and law firms around the country. Since its inception in 2011, the program has built a reputation for helping to launch participants into leadership positions.
“I am flattered to have been selected by my colleagues to represent the firm as a Fellow for the upcoming year,” Cavender said. “This will be a new experience for me and will surely be a valuable resource. The first scheduled event is in a couple weeks and I am looking forward to the virtual and in-person programming LCLD has planned for this year.”
Cavender is an Of Counsel attorney and a member of the firm’s Energy Department. She has drafted hundreds of title opinions for oil and gas interests in the Appalachian Basin to determine ownership of oil and gas interests and leaseholds. She is also an active member of numerous industry groups.
The LCLD Fellowship program offers high-potential, mid-career attorneys from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to develop leadership skills and build meaningful relationships within the legal profession.
To be selected as a Fellow, an attorney must have eight to fifteen years of professional legal experience, have a strong history of performance, and be identified as being on a trajectory toward leadership positions within their firm. Steptoe & Johnson attorneys Monté Williams, Joseph Leonoro, Brooke Kamicker, Kelsey Miller, and Endia Vereen are past LCLD Fellows.
