WHEELING – A man is suing Blue Ridge Manor Apartments after he claims he suffered a broken hip as a result of a dangerous parking lot. HUNTINGTON – A lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. for injuries sustained in a parking lot has been removed to federal court. The notice of removal states that the plaintiffs and the defendant are citizens of different states and, although the plaintiffs did not specifically please an amount of damages, it is "facially apparent" from the complaint that the plaintiffs seek damages in excess of $75,000, according to the Nov. 9 notice of removal, which was filed in the U.S.
HUNTINGTON – A man is suing Wal-Mart Stores Inc. after he claims he was injured when he slipped and fell in the store. On May 6, 2014, Joshua Cremeans was in Wal-Mart when he slipped on fabric softener left on the floor of the store and was injured, according to a complaint filed in Cabell Circuit Court and removed to federal court Oct. 9. CLARKSBURG – A Preston County country club says a racial harassment and discrimination lawsuit against it should be dismissed. Preston County Country Club filed a motion last week to have a civil lawsuit filed against it by Jason Goines removed to federal court.
HUNTINGTON – Walmart seeks to dismiss a Putnam County woman’s complaint in which she blames the retailer for having her Achilles’ tendon sliced while shopping for back-to-school supplies. Jennifer Bradshaw originally filed her complaint in Putnam Circuit Court, but Walmart filed a motion to have it moved to federal court Sept. 2 in Huntington.
CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County couple is suing Merck & Co. after a man claims he was injured by the use of an anti-itch spray and the defendants have denied all allegations against them.
