Hough cautioned for '98 FERPA violation

CHARLESTON – Records show very early in his legal career, Gerry Hough was scolded by the Lawyer Disciplinary Board for violating federal law when he improperly accessed a Glenville State College student's academic records in the course of representing her accused attacker in a sexual assault case.

MORGANTOWN – The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is suing Consol Energy for the deaths of thousands of fish, mussels and other amphibians along a 30-mile stretch of Dunkard Creek in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Mother of deaf teen accuses Kanawha school board of harassment

CHARLESTON – The mother of a deaf student has filed a lawsuit against the Kanawha County Board of Education asking a judge to temporarily prevent school officials from forcing her daughter to attend Capital High School in the midst of allegations that an interpreter there had been harassing her.
