CHARLESTON – A woman is suing Kahootz of Charleston LLC after she claims she was injured when she fell at its restaurant.
On July 3, 2013, Valerie Taylor was dining at the Hooters restaurant in Charleston, when she slipped of a slippery substance in the floor and fell, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Taylor claims the defendant breached its duty of care and was negligent for failing to remove a slippery substance from the floor that caused her to fall.
As a result of the defendant's negligence, Taylor suffered severe and permanent injuries to her left knee, neck and back, according to the suit.
Taylor claims the defendant was liable for the negligent acts of its employees and negligently maintained the premises.
As a direct and proximate result, Taylor suffered severe and permanent damages, according to the suit.
Taylor is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Ben Salango and Kristina Salango of Preston & Salango PLLC: and Matthew Smith of Campbell & Smith PLLC.
The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Charles King.
