Lavalette woman blames office supply store for wreck

WAYNE -- A four-vehicle accident in Wayne County has resulted in a lawsuit.

Michele Clark filed a lawsuit April 17 in Wayne Circuit Court against Ashland Office Supply Inc. and Duane Gossett.

According to the complaint, on April 30, 2012, Clark was driving her vehicle north on W.Va. 152 in Wayne. At the time, Gossett was also operating a vehicle, owned by Ashland, north on W.Va. 152, when he struck the rear of the vehicle being operated by Clark. The collision resulted in a four-car accident, according to the suit.

Gossett is accused of failing to maintain control of his vehicle, failing to follow at a safe distance and failing to keep a proper lookout, which constitutes negligence, carelessness and reckless conduct. The defendant's actions are responsible for the accident which damaged Clark's vehicle and caused her injuries, according to the suit.

Clark is seeking compensatory damages plus court costs.

She is being represented by attorneys Robert D. Cline Jr., Robert A. Campbell and Letisha R. Bika of Farmer, Cline & Campbell PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Darrell Pratt.
