WHEELING -- An Ohio couple is suing after purchasing an allegedly defective vehicle in West Virginia.
Erika L. Rees and Myron N. Rees filed suit June 6 in Ohio Circuit Court against Chrysler Group LLC, citing breach of warranty.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs purchased a new 2013 Dodge Durango manufactured by the defendants on April 2, 2013, for $46,381.17. The vehicle came with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
After purchasing the vehicle, the plaintiffs experienced several issues including an illuminated check engine light, engine misfires and a banging noise over bumps, the suit states. Several repair attempts have been made on the vehicle from Jan. 17 through March 5, however the vehicle continues to exhibit problems, according to the suit.
The plaintiffs are seeking a cancellation of the purchase contract, damages in an amount to be determined during trial, costs, fees and any other relief the court deems just.
They are represented by Pittsburgh attorney Christina Gill Roseman of Kimel & Silverman PC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Ronald E. Wilson.
