BECKLEY -- A Wyoming County man is suing over claims he was injured on the premises of a car dealership and garage.

William E. and Tamela D. McCurdy filed a lawsuit June 11 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Autoventures Inc. and Linda and David Cunningham, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, William McCurdy was at Autoventures on Eisenhower Drive in Beckley on June 11, 2012, when he stepped in a hole in the parking lot and tripped, causing injury to his ankle. The lawsuit states the Cunninghams are the lessors of the property. McCurdy says he incurred medical expenses of more than $21,000 and lost income over $82,000.

On May 7, the McCurdys filed a similar lawsuit against Ramey Motors Inc., Ramey Automotive Group Inc., doing business as Ramey Ford Lincoln, and Whitlock’s Realty Inc.

In the new complaint against Autoventures, the McCurdys are seeking damages in an amount as justified by the evidence.

In both cases, they are being represented in the case by attorneys Kevin B. Burgess and Christopher B. Frost of Hamilton, Burgess, Young & Pollard PLLC in Fayetteville. The Autoventures case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John A. Hutchison.
