BECKLEY -- Two contractors are being sued by a client allegedly injured during a roof installation.
Gordon Dale Cochran filed suit June 23 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Carolina Carports Inc. and Priddys Inc.
According to the complaint, in September 2012 Cochran hired the defendants to replace the metal roof of his home's carport. During the installation, workers for defendant Priddy dropped a large metal plate, which struck the plaintiff and caused severe and permanent injuries, the suit states.
The defendants are accused of failing to properly employ a competent contractor, failing to properly staff the work site, failing to properly secure the metal sheeting, failing to properly instruct workers on installation, failing to properly train workers and failing to properly install the roof.
Cochran is seeking compensatory and punitive damages in an amount to be determined by a jury.
He is represented by Charleston attorneys Timothy J. Lafon and Michael J. Del Giudice of Ciccarello, Del Giudice & Lafon.
